Course Requirements
- Attend the 4th
Annual Spring Conference Financial Fitness for Life workshop for your grade range;
participate in viewing the displays, reception, and dinner. Network with other teachers
during the conference to learn new methods or share ideas on integrating economics to best
meet the needs of your students.
- Attend one follow-up session in your
region:
- Kansas City area teachers
will meet on April 18, 4:30-7:30, with the location to be announced.
- North Missouri dates are
Wednesday, April 17, 4:30-7:30 at H&R Block in Chillicothe, or Thursday, April 18,
4:30-7:30 at Hillyards in St. Joseph.
|
- Implement a minimum number of three
lessons from the FFFL curriculum. Reflect on
the value of the lessons to your students in journal entrees. Complete a curriculum review
form for the lessons used in the classroom (form will be provided to the teacher).
- Journal entries will also include a
profile of the prior knowledge of the students in your classroom and a description of the
economics taught in your classroom before introducing the FFFL materials.
- Teachers will compare the lessons to
the economic benchmarks for the MAP and design a performance event for their students
asking them to apply the new economic understanding they have gained from the lessons
taught with a scoring guide.
- Teachers will suggest a
cross-training activity that they used to incorporate the economic/personal finance
curriculum into their content area.
- A school visit by the instructor will
be made to discuss with the teacher the costs and benefits of incorporating the Financial
Fitness for Life curriculum into their classroom.
- Curriculum portfolios will be due
Wednesday, May 1, 2002.

Tuition Reimbursement

completion of the one-hour credit, teachers on scholarship will receive a $50 tuition
