Congratulations to our
shining stars! Our Econ Advocates have been earning accolades over the past year. |
Anne Jeschke was named Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year
in March, 2002, at the annual Missouri Council for
the Social Studies Conference held in St. Louis. The selection process included a
nomination packet documenting her experience in teaching, the outstanding contributions
made to Social Studies education and how this impacted her students. After her award
presentation, she addressed the audience regarding this experience and how she teaches
social studies in her 4th grade eMINTS classroom. On the following day, she was one of the
presenters for the conference. Congratulations, Anne! She serves as an Economic Advocate
in north Missouri. |

Cindy Barnes was honored
with National Professional Board Certification in middle
level Social Studies. She conducted a year-long self-study, compiled a portfolio
documenting her teaching and reflections, attended meetings with mentors and sat for a
one-day comprehensive exam. She joins approximately 70 other National Board Certified
Teachers in the state. A
reception was held for Cindy at the DO and many teachers, administrators, and patrons from
the community attended.
She is an
Economic Advocate, and we are proud of her!
